The Effingham Lions club has two fund raising projects that continue all year.
1) Broom sales- These quality products are made by the visually impaired at ‘industries of the blind’, Kansas City. Brooms available are for both household and industrial use and include the traditional sweep brooms, push brooms, counter top brooms, child’s broom, etc., in a variety of sizes and bristle material. To purchase, contact Dave Bodenhausen, 913-833-2023, coordinator.
2) Port-a-Potty rental- The club owns two regular size portable toilets mounted on a trailer. They are new, clean, fresh, and maintained after each event. They are for rent for outdoor events to include family gatherings, group parties, business meetings, etc. They really are clean and properly maintained. To rent: contact Jack Noll, 913-833-5611, coordinator.
Periodically Lions has a third area of revenue: 3) Non-Profit events- The club has for many years donated labor and time to help other non-profit organizations in the Effingham community. Most recent help was provided to the ‘kids bicycle safety program’ May 28, 2005, organized by KS highway patrol trooper Don Hughes and KS Farm Bureau.
